You Have To Take some steps through which You can connect Two pc with LAN
For Windows XP:
1. Goto Start Menu.
2.Then Click on Control Panel.
3.Click on Network Connection.
4.search Local Area Network icon and right click and select properties.
5.Select Internet protocol (TCP/IP) and click on properties button.
6.Set IP address for both the computers. Remember they must be unique for both of them. For eg if you choose "192.168.1.1" for your first computer then choose "192.168.1.2" for other computer. IP address is address of computer from which it is recognized in networks.
7.Below the IP Address there is box called Subnet Mask, put 255.255.255.0 in it and click ok.
